Testing to see if I get a new journal layout... :3

So I've spent the past few days doing some intensive looking into the topic of roleplaying in a variety of forms. I've looked at the Fringe RPG, When Worlds Collide, and even have an OC application in process but... Nothing's "clicking" for me right now. I admit, I haven't RP'd for years, and I only did it the once, but I really have interest in it!

What I'm wondering in terms of an RPG... (For beginners, an intro to rpg btw!) Season 2 is quickly coming to an end (oh noes!) so we'll be having a hiatus that I know will be filled with much fan angsting on my part and a dire need of something Fringe fannish to feed my addiction. Depending on interest and what sort of help I can recruit, I figure we might be able to sort out an RPG to begin shortly after the season finale.

Storyline? Well, I'm totally open. What I'm wanting, though, is something driven by and focusing on the canonical characters. Yes we'll need some non-canon folks, but I'd like to see roles filled for the major players. In terms of the RPG premise, I have three primary options in my head, but I am very open to other suggestions. My ideas: 1) We play from where season two ends (and I'd prefer an agreement to not follow up on any spoilers; I'd rather be surprised by canon); 2) Set some time in the future after some major event/disaster/calamity occurs (not really an apocalyptic plot, though...); 3) We RP the "alternate" world we've only seen glimpses of; and yes, there will be some issues considering the travel Walter's already done......

So, please comment here with: any interest (yes? no? maybe? conditional to...); potential premise/main story; suggestions of guidelines/how to build this up/setup; where to RP - a forum? LJ? IJ? DW? Elsewhere, through other mediums? Uh... anything else, really. Particularly I'd like to know that we have a solid base to RP main casting. Also, I'd like co-mods or co-organizers. =3 Please?
